At Riverside Theatres Parramatta, on 11th April, the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) will present the captivating production, Patrice Balbina’s Encounter with the End of the World. Funny, surprising and deeply moving, the production will take audiences on an extraordinary journey, seen through the eyes of a ten-year-old girl.

Patrice Balbina has noticed something unsettling is in the neighbourhood. It’s a feeling, a suspicion that disappears when you look at it directly. Patrice has noticed that small things are starting to disappear. The butcher has lost his laugh, the man with the pigeon is losing his patience, and Dad says the government has lost its mind. But you wouldn’t expect the End of the World.

Then he rang the doorbell.

This multi-lingual show for older children is the result of a truly international collaboration between six leading theatre companies from Italy, Canada, Portugal, the UK and Australia. Directed by ATYP Artistic Director Fraser Corfield, the show has charmed audiences worldwide and is set to do it again at Riverside Theatres.
