Australia’s longest street fair, the Glebe Street Fair, will transform a one kilometre stretch of road into a spectacular celebration of the local community and culture on Sunday 20th November. The jam-packed 2016 program will include live performances, market stalls, talks, contests, workshops and much more!
Throughout the day, fairgoers can enjoy over 200 street stalls offering items such as artisan jewelley, vintage fashion and original works from local artists, as well as curb their appetite with the food truck alley serving delicious cuisines and beverages from around the world.
Providing a selection of the day’s entertainment will be three stages throughout the Fair with live performances from indie-pop starlet Iluka and powerful blues from the likes of Marlene Cummins and Alice Terry.
Rounding out the bumper music program will be a sunset block party providing a summer sound track including hip hop duo Coda Conduct, roots and ragga legends The Strides, and DJs from the Inner West Reggae Disco Machine. Local DJs are also invited to hit the decks for the Best Of Sydney Small-bars DJ competition.
To keep the little ones entertained, the Glebe Public School will be transformed into Little Land, a delightful program of children’s entertainment including dinosaur rides, face painting, pony rides and free interactive performances from musician Godfrey Uke.
Glebe Street Fair will also feature a program of workshops, demonstrations and talks including glass blowing demonstrations by Glass Artists Gallery, ceramics workshops by kil.n.it, Poetry Slam from Word Travels, talks from School of Life and free tours of Glebe’s secrets by Culture Scouts.
