Families across Melbourne are in for a treat, with a children’s literature and performing arts festival coming to the newly opened Ian Potter Centre for Performing Arts at Monash University, Clayton.

The inaugural Family Fiesta, running in the school holidays from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th July is one of the few festivals in Australia which focuses on children’s literature and art. Curated for children aged 3-12 years, the festival features 10 free events and one ticket performance.

The festival activates all the venue spaces that make up the new performing arts centre and it is designed so families can drop in and explore throughout the day.

Events include:
– A stage show performance of ‘The Young King’ (ticketed)
– Guest authors including Judy Horcek, author of Where Is The Green Sheep (FREE)
– Fiesta Book Nook
– Maisy Mouse meet and greets
– Kids DJ
– I See You Like This, an interactive photo studio for parents and kids
