If you’re like me and quiver at the sound of your children asking to play with paint, get anxious at the sight of play doh mixing together or just not a fan of messy play in general, then boy have I got the place for you!
It’s called Craftercise!
Located in Airport West, I think I cried when it opened in my old stomping ground because at that time I was at home with two kids under two! This place was, and continues to be, a godsent for me and a real winner with the little ones!
Craftercise is run by the dynamic duo Aleisha and Amanda who are both qualified PE teachers and mums themselves, so understand the benefit of kids making a mess somewhere other than your own home!
I’ve seen kids from 6 months through to 5 years enjoying themselves and learning through play. Every week there’s a different theme and kids get the opportunity to play in circuit based activities using soft play, recycled equipment, musical instruments and sensory play. Nothing is off limits – there’s play doh, sand, water, paint, glitter, slime, beans, pasta, watermelon – nothing your child won’t love touching (or eating).
While of course it’s all about the children, the best part is that the mess stays there and you don’t have to clean a thing (well maybe your child’s hand, face and clothes, but they’re minor details). Fact is the real mess starts there and finishes there!
They also cater for birthdays too which I think is fantastic – I am hosting my threenager’s ‘Blaze’ themed party there for sure.
