The centrepiece of Melbourne’s Christmas Festival, Christmas Square will be transformed into a magical forest offering festive fun, especially for families and children.
By day, discover nutcracker soldiers, interactive candy canes and get a free photo with Santa. As part of the TAC’s #BePresent campaign, a giant interactive present will find a home in Christmas Square. Deck yourself out in festive decorations for a free, personalised photo and Christmas card!
If you feel like dancing, visit the square from 12pm to 1pm on Saturday 26 November and 3 December to groove along to the Kinderling radio DJs and their Christmas party tunes.
Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays from December 5 to 21 will also see Christmas story-time sessions, so bring the family down to the square to enjoy Christmas tales suitable for all ages.
By night, enjoy the soundscapes and Christmas lighting.
Santa visits 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm daily, and 4pm-7pm Fridays. Storytime 12.15pm-12:45pn Dec 5-21, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
You will also find Santa’s Mail Box at City Square, Write a letter to Santa and post it in Santa’s Mail Box in the City Square or any street posting box to get a reply from Santa himself! You can also drop a gift off at the Australia Post Giving Box where your donation will be delivered to a child in need.
You can find Santa’s Post Box on the corner of Swanston Street and Collins Street from November 3rd till December 15th.
