The Pop Up Globe is the world’s first full scale temporary working replica of Shakespeare’s theatre, the second Globe.

From outrageous comedies through to epic war battles reminiscent of Game of Thrones, this season of Shakespeare is appealing to all. Audiences will be taken back in time 400 years ago to discover what all the fuss is about, to enjoy this extraordinary theatre experience.

Expect to see cannons, flaming arrows, hundreds of litres of fake blood, hand-forged armour and over 450 beautiful bespoke period costumes pieces specially constructed by the Pop-up Globe in-house wardrobe department. Capped with an onion dome, Pop-up Globe has become a remarkable feature of the Melbourne cityscape, just as the second Globe was in London.

The masterpieces being performed at the Pop-up Globe:

– Around the Globe in 60 Minutes! (Family friendly). Please note we recommend this show from 6 years and above.

– As You Like It (Comedy)

– Much Ado About Nothing ( Comedy rom-com)

– Othello (Psychological thriller)

– Henry V (Bloody war epic)

The Pop Up Globe season has been such a success, the season has now been extended to January.

This was a truly magnificent and spectacular theatre both dramatic and hilarious! Love a great performance and surely this was not to be missed. The atmosphere was also superb bringing back the old Shakespeare tales. Enjoyed every moment of it!
