An innovative new children’s play space has opened in Alexandria. The first of its kind in Australia, Nubo, meaning cloud, is a aesthetically pleasing and calm space that helps children and families play, explore, connect, grow and learn together. Celebrating the innocence and purity of childhood, Nubo brings play back to its essence, combining beautiful, uncomplicated and open spaces and bespoke educative playing tools – it is a place to exercise and explore one’s imagination.

Steering away from the typical play centre aesthetics of bright colours and computer screens, Nubo instead promotes a sense of ‘pure play’ where parents and children can connect with each other not just through its design, but through the graphics, and playing tools.
Every facet of its design has been developed specifically for its primary audience, so that children can easily immerse themselves in the space, whilst promoting the interaction between parent and child.

Nubo boasts a variety of spaces where families can draw enjoyment from connecting with each other, which includes an extensive children’s library surrounding a giant hot air balloon where kids can curl up to read their favourite book; a building room full of Big Blue Blocks, and MagFormers; a workshop room to explore music, drama, robotics and more; a café where children can make a range of healthy dishes with the space’s resident chef; a zone for active play (including a giant ball pit and a very tall climbing net) complete with opportunities to slide, climb, jump and hide; an arts and craft space to create wonderful masterpieces; and a range of children’s master classes including cake making and painting.

The cafe offers an extensive menu of healthy food and drink items. A range of vegan and raw cakes are on offer as well as smoothies and a much loved coffee.

Nubo is a wonderful space to enjoy quality family time with the children. It has in essence, assisted parents with reconnecting with their children, as well as helping adults reconnect with their own inner child.
