Essendon Traffic School is a mini road set up for kids aged three to ten, complete with road signs, railway bells and traffic lights. It is a safe place for kids to practice riding their bicycles and learn about road rules.
Kids can also use their imaginations by filling up at the petrol station or park their bike and play in the shop windows and sand pit. We were lucky enough to have a turn at driving the tram and ringing the bell on our visit.
Please ensure that children are wearing closed toe shoes and appropriate clothing for riding when you visit (including a properly fitted helmet). Although scooters and skateboards are not permitted, there are a wide range of bicycles provided which children can use on the road circuit. Alternatively, children are welcome to bring their own bikes.
Public sessions held every Saturday morning from 10am-12pm (except for public holiday long weekends).
As well as Monday to Friday during school holidays from 10am-12pm and again from 1pm-3pm. Junior only Sessions ( 2- 6 years) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 10am-12noon, all other sessions are available for children aged 2-12 years.
